Care Summary

Rasp Coral is a dense, warty Pocillopora with tighter branch structure than damicornis — it's a fast-coloring, visually striking SPS that's forgiving enough to bridge the gap between intermediate and advanced systems. High light and strong flow at the top of the tank; verrucosa is a wave-zone coral that will survive lower flow but won't thrive — it needs turbulence to stay clean and grow well. Pocillopora species are notorious for hosting commensal crabs and gall crabs that hide inside the branches and damage tissue — inspect new colonies carefully and treat with a freshwater or Interceptor dip before placing. Feed fine zooplankton twice a week and keep nutrients balanced; verrucosa handles slightly elevated nutrients better than Acropora but will still brown out in a dirty system.
