Care Summary
The Blueface Angel is a spectacular show fish that transitions from a distinctive juvenile pattern to the blue-masked adult over 18-24 months; give it 150+ gallons to complete this transformation well. This species is a known coral nipper, especially targeting LPS, tridacna clam mantles, and zoanthids; place it in a FOWLR or accept that you will lose some colonies. Feed a wide variety: sponge-based angel blends, nori, frozen mysis, and enriched brine; blueface angels that eat a limited diet show faded color and shortened lifespan. Acquire specimens in the 3-5 inch juvenile range; very small juveniles are fragile shippers, and adults above 6 inches are difficult to transition to prepared foods.
