Care Summary
Lamarck's Angelfish is one of the few large angelfish that is genuinely reef-safe; it is a planktivore that eats copepods and zooplankton rather than coral or sponge, making it a rare large angel you can trust in a reef. House it in 100+ gallons; it is a social species and does best in a pair or small group, with the male showing a striking black and white pattern and females being mostly white. Feed enriched frozen mysis, brine, and quality pellets twice daily; as a planktivore it feeds in the water column and needs small, frequent meals rather than large chunks of seafood. It is one of the most underappreciated large angels in the hobby; the combination of reef safety, social behavior, and elegant coloration makes it ideal for reefers who want a show-stopping centerpiece fish.
