Care Summary
Watanabe's Angelfish is an elegant, slender Genicanthus angel that is genuinely reef-safe as a planktivore; the male's blue and white horizontal striping with black borders is strikingly beautiful. House it in 100+ gallons; Genicanthus angels are open-water swimmers that need substantial room to cruise and do not do well in cramped tanks where they cannot establish natural foraging behavior. Feed enriched frozen mysis, brine, and quality pellets twice daily; as a planktivore it feeds in the water column rather than grazing rockwork, so ensure food reaches the mid-to-upper zones where it naturally forages. Keep a pair or small group; females are attractive in their own right and the pair dynamic is rewarding, with the male displaying to the female regularly and the group staying visibly active throughout the day.
