Care Summary

The Bubble Tip Anemone is the go-to hosting anemone for clownfish, widely available, moderately hardy, and capable of splitting into thriving colonies under good conditions. Give it strong, stable lighting, moderate flow, and a sandy spot or rock crevice to anchor, and keep it away from corals it can sting as it wanders during acclimation. The biggest issue is that a stressed BTA will wander and deflate repeatedly until it finds the right spot, so resist the urge to move it and let it settle on its own terms. Feed meaty foods like silverside or krill every one to two weeks once settled, though a well-fed clownfish pair will often handle feeding duties on their own.
