Care Summary
The Flamboyant Cuttlefish is a small but extraordinarily toxic species from the Indo-Pacific, famous for its pulsing color displays and its habit of walking along the substrate on modified arms. It requires a species-only tank of at least 30 gallons with fine sandy substrate, plenty of live rock for structure, and no tankmates that could stress or compete with it. The key challenge is feeding, as most specimens will only accept live food such as small ghost shrimp, small crabs, or small fish, and weaning them onto frozen prey takes time and patience. Keep water quality pristine, maintain temperatures in the 72 to 78 degree range, and feed small prey items every one to two days to keep condition good.
