Care Summary
The Hard Tube Coco Worm is a reef favorite for its brilliant double-spiral crown that comes in shades of red, orange, pink, and white, all housed in a rigid calcified tube it builds itself on live rock. Wedge or cement its tube securely against the rockwork in a low-to-moderate flow area, and it will open reliably and peacefully ignore every other resident in the tank. Unlike soft tube worms, it cannot regenerate its crown if nipped, so keep it away from known crown-nippers like peppermint shrimp, bristle worms, and certain wrasse species. Dose phytoplankton or a coral-grade filter feeder food two to three times weekly, and avoid sudden light changes that can cause prolonged retraction and stress.
