Care Summary

Hingebeak Shrimp, also known as Rhynchocinetes shrimp or candy shrimp, are colorful, active little shrimp with hinged, upturned rostrums that give them a perpetually cheerful look in the tank. They are best kept in groups of three or more and do well in reef tanks with moderate flow, though they should not be housed with aggressive shrimp, predatory fish, or hungry wrasses that will treat them as a snack. They have a reputation for picking at certain soft corals and zoanthids, so watch them closely after introduction and be prepared to relocate them if you see nipping behavior on your prized polyps. Feed a varied diet of frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and small meaty particles several times a week, and they will also graze on leftover food and detritus between feedings.
