Care Summary
Acropora gomezi is an irregular bottlebrush Acropora, less geometrically tidy than many of its relatives, with branches that give colonies a slightly wild, organic look. Aquacultured pieces come in blue, teal and purple, colours that can shift noticeably with light spectrum and intensity. Growth is slow, which is normal for this species and not by itself a cause for concern.
Care
An expert-level species for a mature, stable SPS system only. Alkalinity stability comes above all else, with calcium and magnesium held consistent — a slow grower has little margin to recover from swings. As a lower-light bottlebrush it is best kept around PAR 150–300 rather than forced into the brightest position, with light changes made slowly. Provide medium to high random flow, never a constant jet aimed at the colony. Watch for a slowly encrusting base and modest polyp extension as health signs; with a species this deliberate, steady parameters over months matter far more than any short-term adjustment.
Placement and growth
A middle to top placement in moderated light suits it well. Give it at least 2 in of clearance from neighbouring corals on all sides, and mount it firmly in a spot you can leave undisturbed — repeated moves are particularly costly for slow growers. Once settled, let it be and let the colony develop at its own pace.
