Care Summary
The Azure Damselfish is one of the smaller, less aggressive damsels and can actually work in a reef tank as long as it has enough space to establish a small territory. Keep it in 30+ gallons; a single specimen in a nano tank will terrorize everything, but in a 55+ with rockwork it settles into a corner and becomes much more manageable. It is reef-safe and will not bother corals, but it will chase similarly sized fish relentlessly if it feels crowded, so choose tankmates that are larger or faster. Feeding is effortless: it accepts virtually any frozen or dried food, and is one of the most bulletproof fish you can keep.
