Citron Clown Goby

Care Summary

The Citron Clown Goby is a tiny, bright yellow fish that lives in and around Acropora and Pocillopora colonies; in a coral-heavy reef it will spend most of its time perched on a coral branch. At under an inch it is one of the smallest fish in the marine hobby and can live comfortably in a 10-gallon nano; it will not outcompete anything for food or space. There is one drawback: it can lay eggs on coral tissue and the parents will aggressively defend the nest, potentially stressing or damaging the host coral. Feed baby brine and tiny frozen mysis near its perch; it does not travel to find food, so broadcast feeding means it often gets nothing.
