Care Summary
The juvenile Clown Coris is arguably the most visually arresting wrasse available to hobbyists, with that snow-white body, orange humped markings, and flowing fins that look like a living art piece. The adult terminal phase male is a completely different animal, a large, powerful, emerald-green fish with a very different personality to match. Both phases need a sand bed of at least 4 inches to sleep in; shortchange them on substrate depth and they will die of stress. Plan on dedicating a big tank to the adult because snails, crabs, and any hard-shelled crustaceans are all on the menu.
