Care Summary
The Falco Hawkfish is one of the smallest hawkfish species, reaching only 3 inches, which makes it suitable for 30-gallon systems where larger hawkfish would be too big. Like all hawkfish it will eat any shrimp, small crab, or tiny fish it can catch; keep your cleanup crew to snails and urchins if you add one to the tank. It perches on corals or rockwork and makes short lunges for food; it is bold, interactive, and learns to recognize feeding time quickly, which makes it one of the more entertaining small fish to keep. Feed frozen mysis and meaty small foods twice daily; it is not picky and will eat enthusiastically from the first day, making it one of the easier predatory fish to get established.
