The Swissguard Basslet is a stunning Caribbean fish with alternating red and orange horizontal stripes; it is peaceful, reef-safe, and spends time near rockwork overhangs and cave entrances. House it in 30+ gallons with overhangs and caves; it is a secretive fish that prefers the lower-middle tank zone and will be more visible if given architectural options that match its natural habitat. It is peaceful toward most tankmates and can even be kept in small groups in larger tanks, which is unusual for a basslet; pairs or trios add natural interaction without the aggression typical of solitary basslets. Feed frozen mysis and meaty small foods twice daily; it is not a picky eater but target-feed to ensure it is getting enough food and not being outcompeted at the surface by faster, more aggressive fish.
