Care Summary
The Yellow Assessor is the warm-colored counterpart to the Blue Assessor; care is identical, and both are excellent cave-dwelling nano reef fish that hover upside-down under ledges. House it in 20+ gallons with aquascape overhangs; it will spend most of its visible time under a ledge, and a tank with no cave structure will result in a stressed, hiding fish you never actually see. Multiple specimens can be kept together in larger tanks without serious aggression; this is one of the few cave-dwelling fish that tolerates conspecifics, which makes group displays possible. Feed frozen mysis and small meaty foods twice daily near its cave; it feeds in midwater near its home base and will be consistently outcompeted by open-water feeders if food is broadcast far from its position.
