Care Summary
The Spotted Cleaner Shrimp is a gorgeous Caribbean species that sets up cleaning stations inside anemones, waving its antennae to invite fish to come in for parasite removal. It's reef-safe, peaceful, and hardy enough for beginner systems as long as it has a host anemone like a Condylactis to live in and the water chemistry is stable. Without a host anemone it tends to hide constantly and rarely thrives, so pairing it with an anemone before adding it gives it the security it needs to behave naturally and start cleaning fish. Feed it small meaty foods like mysis or brine shrimp a few times a week, placing the food near the anemone so the shrimp can intercept it without venturing too far from the safety of its host.
