Care Summary
The Strawberry Conch is a striking little sand-dweller with a vivid red-and-white shell interior, and it's one of the most effective sandbed cleaners available for a mid-size reef. It needs a deep, fine sand bed to plow through, and it coexists peacefully with corals, fish, and most other invertebrates without any issues. Keep in mind that conchs move in a lurching, hopping motion that can startle new hobbyists, and they need to be righted immediately if flipped by a powerhead or rowdy tankmate. No special feeding is required in a tank with a healthy sandbed and some algae film, but a small piece of nori on the substrate occasionally will keep it thriving.
