Care Summary
The Zebra Hermit Crab is a striking little hermit from the Indo-Pacific, recognized by its bold white-banded orange walking legs and deep blue-tipped claws that make it one of the most visually distinctive hermits in the hobby. It's fully reef-safe, peaceful with most tankmates, and comfortable in smaller systems as long as there's a variety of empty shells available for it to upgrade into as it grows. The most common issue keepers run into is shell aggression toward other hermits, so keeping a good supply of empty shells in multiple sizes is essential to prevent fighting. It's a natural scavenger and algae grazer, but offering small meaty foods like mysis or pellets a couple of times a week keeps it healthy and active.
