Care Summary
Lobophyllia hemprichii is one of the more common lobed brain corals in the hobby — thick, fleshy lobes in shades of red, green, and brown that look substantial even as a small colony. Sandbed or low rockwork placement under moderate light with low to gentle flow; it adapts well once established and doesn't require fussy positioning. Aggression is the main planning factor — like all Lobophyllia, it can extend digestive filaments well beyond its visible margin at night and will damage any stony coral that's too close. Target feed every couple of weeks with meaty foods placed directly on the lobes; it's a responsive feeder and consistent nutrition keeps the tissue thick and the colors saturated.
