Alveopora sp
Care Summary
Community submission by Phu Huynh
TSA Fantasy League Alveopora is a named collector variant with the characteristic daisy-like polyp extension that makes Alveopora look like an underwater flower garden — longer polyp stalks than most Goniopora give it a particularly elegant extended appearance. Mid-tank placement with medium indirect light and gentle medium flow; Alveopora is closely related to Goniopora in care needs — it wants flow for feeding but not enough to prevent full polyp extension. Alveopora historically had the same long-term decline reputation as Goniopora, but captive-raised and established-aquaculture specimens like named morphs tend to be significantly more stable — source matters enormously with this genus. Feed fine zooplankton and phytoplankton two to three times weekly and dose amino acids; Alveopora responds visibly to consistent feeding with denser polyp extension and is more forgiving of moderate feeding than Goniopora, but still won't thrive in a neglected feeding regimen.
