Alveopora spongiosa resembles Goniopora but has 12 tentacles per polyp rather than 24, making identification possible at close range. It shares the same reputation for being challenging in captivity and requires regular targeted feeding. Stable, low-nutrient water with supplemental phytoplankton dosing improves long-term survival.
