The Aldabra Dottyback is genuinely striking, with that vivid orange-and-yellow gradient contrasted by electric blue facial markings that make it look artificially colored. Do not let the small size fool you: this fish will bully fish twice its length if they are passive or slow, and it needs to go in after your other fish are settled and confident. Keep only one dottyback per system unless the tank is large enough to support clearly defined territories. It is hardy, eats anything, and adapts to aquarium life quickly, which makes it a genuinely rewarding fish for the intermediate hobbyist.
