Care Summary

The Striped Dottyback is one of the most graphically clean fish in the hobby, those bold horizontal black-and-white stripes on a small body looking almost architectural in a reef. Size for size it may be one of the most aggressive fish you can put in a tank, and it will fearlessly hold territory against much larger fish if provoked. Keep it with robust, assertive species that can handle the attitude, and avoid pairing it with small, passive fish that cannot defend themselves. It eats frozen mysis and pellets readily and requires minimal coaxing, which makes the aggression management the only real challenge.
