Care Summary
The Canary Blenny is one of the few fang blennies with actual venom in its bite, but it only uses it defensively when swallowed by a larger fish; it is not aggressive toward tankmates. Keep it in 30+ gallons with small tube-like hiding spots or empty snail shells; it retreats to these when stressed and will not thrive without bolt-holes. Its bright yellow color, peaceful nature, and fang blenny hardiness make it an excellent choice for intermediate reefers who want something more unusual than a standard blenny. Feed frozen mysis and small meaty foods twice daily; unlike algae-grazing blennies it is a carnivore and needs protein-rich food to maintain its color and condition.
