Firefish Goby

Care Summary

The Firefish Goby is a beautiful, peaceful nano fish that is ideal for tanks as small as 10 gallons; it hovers in the mid-column and retreats tail-first into a burrow or cave when startled. Keep it with calm, non-aggressive tankmates; anything that chases or nips will cause the Firefish to go into permanent hiding, where it will eventually stop eating and decline. A tight lid is critical; Firefish are notorious jumpers and are especially prone to launching themselves through small gaps in the cover when spooked at night. Feed frozen mysis and small meaty foods twice daily; it is not a competitive feeder so target-feed near its home base to make sure it consistently gets enough food.
