Care Summary
Randall's Prawn Goby forms a reliable partnership with Alpheid pistol shrimp and is one of the most colorful shrimp gobies available with its orange and white spotted patterning. House it in 20+ gallons with a sand bed of 3+ inches and introduce it with a pistol shrimp; the behavioral interaction between goby and shrimp is one of the most entertaining things you can set up in a small reef. Feed frozen mysis and meaty small foods twice daily near the burrow entrance; it does not roam far to eat and will be outcompeted in open-water broadcast feeding scenarios. A secure lid is important; it will jump when startled, and new introductions are the highest-risk period before the fish has established its home burrow and feels secure.
