Care Summary
The Sleeper Blue Dot Goby is a large sand-sifter that processes substantial volumes of substrate daily; it creates a biologically active sand bed but will also consume amphipods and copepods constantly. House it in 55+ gallons with a sand bed of at least 3 inches; this is a large goby at 5-6 inches and needs space to roam and sift without destabilizing the entire substrate in a small tank. Feed frozen mysis and meaty foods twice daily even though it constantly grazes the sand; the supplemental feeding ensures it stays healthy and does not deplete the sand bed's microfauna completely. Secure the lid; like all Valenciennea gobies it will jump when startled, and a large goby launching itself out of the tank is a dramatic and preventable loss.
