Care Summary

The Yellow Prawn Goby is a legitimately cheerful fish, a solid lemon-yellow that pops against any substrate and does not need actinic lighting to look good. Pair it with an Alpheid pistol shrimp and you have one of the most reliably interesting behavioral setups available in the hobby at a very accessible price. It perches openly at the burrow entrance for much of the day, which means you actually see it rather than wondering where your fish went. It is a strong first goby for any hobbyist and is almost never a bad choice for a reef system.
