The Marble Sea Star is one of the safer and more visually rewarding sea stars for reef tanks, with a rich red and orange body patterned with dark-tipped scales that give it a truly elegant look. It grazes on algae, detritus, and microorganisms found on live rock, making it a useful and reef-compatible addition to a mature, established system. Like most sea stars, it is highly sensitive to rapid changes in salinity and oxygen levels, and it should never be exposed to air during handling or transport. If you notice it looking deflated or moving erratically, check your water parameters immediately since this species is often the first to show signs of declining water quality.
