Care Summary
Acropora chesterfieldensis is a corymbose to cluster-forming Acropora valued for unusually bright colour rather than unusual shape. In aquaculture it is known for neon green and yellow tones that can look almost fluorescent under blue-heavy light when the colony is in peak condition. Colonies build into tight clusters of short branches.
Care
This is an advanced Acropora for a mature, stable SPS system. Alkalinity stability is the priority above all else — keep it steady, test frequently, and avoid sudden corrections that can dull colour overnight. Calcium and magnesium need to stay consistent alongside alkalinity. Provide high, strong random flow across the cluster, never a constant jet aimed at one side, so polyps stay extended and debris does not settle between branches. As a high-light species it holds its neon colour best around PAR 250–400, introduced gradually. Look for an encrusting base and even polyp extension as health signs, and treat fading colour as an early warning to check stability first.
Placement and growth
Place it at the top of the aquascape in direct light and broad flow. Give at least 2 in of minimum clearance from neighbours so the cluster stays evenly lit — shading on one side quickly shows as uneven colour. Growth is moderate and compact; once encrusted, the cluster thickens steadily without demanding the footprint of a staghorn or table.
