Cat's Eye Coral

Cynarina lacrymalis is a single-polyp bubble coral with extraordinary inflation — it puffs up to several times its skeleton size and displays some of the most vivid coloration of any LPS available. Bottom placement under low light with minimal, indirect flow; too much current deflates the tissue bubble and the coral never shows you what it's actually capable of. The size of the inflated tissue means it's vulnerable to physical damage — a single snail or urchin blundering across it can cause a tear that becomes an infection vector, so keep the sandbed around it clear. Feed weekly by placing food directly onto the disc when it's fully inflated; it's a capable hunter and target feeding with mysis or meaty chunks is what keeps the coloration electric.
