Care Summary
The Blue Angelfish is a large Atlantic species reaching 15 inches, so it belongs in a 150-gallon minimum FOWLR system with robust filtration. It is closely related to the Queen Angelfish and can hybridize with it; keep only one large angel per tank unless your system is very large with well-divided territories. Expect it to graze on LPS, soft corals, and sponges; this is not a reef fish and trying to keep it that way will result in coral losses and a chronically hungry angel. Feed a varied diet including sponge-based angel foods, nori, mysis, and chopped seafood; large angels that eat only one food type tend to develop nutritional deficiencies over time.
