The Midas Blenny mimics the coloration and swimming motion of Lyretail Anthias; the mimicry allows it to swim in open water that blennies normally avoid without attracting predator attention. House it in 30+ gallons with some open rockwork for perching; unlike algae-grazing blennies it spends time in the water column and appreciates open swimming lanes. Feed frozen mysis, enriched brine, and quality pellets twice daily; it is a carnivore rather than an algae grazer so avoid blenny-style algae-only diets. It is peaceful, reef-safe, and one of the more charismatic blenny species; the mimicry behavior is fascinating to observe once you notice the way it synchronizes its movement with nearby anthias.
