Care Summary
The Tailspot Blenny is a small, personable algae grazer with a distinctive black tail spot that makes it easy to identify and track in a reef tank full of corals. House it in 20+ gallons with established algae growth on the rockwork; like all algae-grazing blennies it supplements prepared foods with constant natural grazing and needs a mature tank to support this. Supplement its diet with nori, spirulina pellets, and algae-based flakes; an underfed Tailspot Blenny in a tank with no algae will eventually nip at LPS polyps, particularly hammer and torch corals. It is personable and interactive, often perching on a single favorite rock and bobbing; one of the best nano-reef blennies available for tanks in the 20-40 gallon range.
