Care Summary
The Tail-Spot Wrasse is the most underrated beginner wrasse in the hobby and consistently gets overlooked in favor of the Six Line, which is far more aggressive. It eats anything frozen, rarely bothers corals, picks pests off the substrate, and stays small enough to work in tanks as small as 30 gallons comfortably. The eyespot at the caudal base is a predator-confusing adaptation that looks great in photos and makes this species immediately recognizable. If you want a wrasse that is low-drama and high-utility, start here.
