Arrow Crab
Stenorhynchus seticornis
Reef Safe
With Caution
Care Summary
The Arrow Crab is an instantly recognizable oddity with its triangular rostrum, long spindly legs, and dramatic spider-like silhouette that makes it a conversation piece in any tank. It is generally reef-compatible and will clean up detritus, bristle worms, and small prey items, but larger specimens can become bold enough to harass small fish and slow-moving invertebrates. Tankmate compatibility is the primary concern: keep it with fish large enough to not be threatened by it, and avoid housing it with fan worms or ornamental shrimp in smaller systems. Feed meaty foods a few times per week, including mysis, chopped seafood, or carnivore pellets, and it will patrol the rockwork actively as part of a balanced cleanup approach.
