Care Summary
Bumble Bee Shrimp are tiny, striking little shrimp with black and white banding that stay under an inch, making them ideal for nano reef tanks where larger shrimp would look out of place. They are peaceful and reef safe but should not be housed with predatory fish, large aggressive shrimp, or wrasses, which will make short work of them given their small size. The main husbandry challenge is feeding, as they specialize in eating tube feet and the tissue of echinoderms like sea urchins and sea stars, and you will need to provide those food items regularly to keep them healthy. Offer small pieces of urchin or sea star tube feet a few times a week, and they can also be supplemented with small meaty particles like baby mysis if the primary food is unavailable.
