Care Summary
The Hairy Crab is a small, bristle-covered reef crab that's more common in display tanks than most hobbyists realize, often hitchhiking in on live rock. It does best in a well-established reef with plenty of caves and overhangs, but keep it away from small ornamental shrimp and delicate corals it can pick at. The main concern with this crab is its opportunistic nature, it will scavenge aggressively and may nip at coral polyps or small tankmates when hungry. Feed it meaty foods like mysis or small pieces of seafood a few times a week to keep it busy and less likely to cause trouble.
