The Jorunna Nudibranch, sometimes called the sea bunny nudibranch for its fuzzy appearance and ear-like rhinophores, is a fascinating but extremely challenging animal to keep in captivity. It browses on specific sponges as its sole food source, and without a consistent supply of the right sponge species it will waste away within weeks of being introduced. We list it as not reef safe because it will consume sponges growing in the tank, and it is rated expert because most home systems simply cannot sustain it long-term. Only attempt keeping this species if you have a dedicated sponge refugium or a reliable source of live sponge material to supplement its diet continuously.
