The Phyllidia Nudibranch is a boldly patterned Indo-Pacific sea slug with bright tubercles and striking contrast that makes it look almost artificial under tank lighting. Like most nudibranchs, it is a specialist feeder that targets specific sponges and will not adapt to prepared foods, making it one of the harder animals to sustain in a home aquarium. Beyond feeding challenges, this species releases toxic compounds when stressed or dying, which can crash an entire tank if the animal perishes and is not removed promptly. Check on it daily, remove it immediately if it shows signs of decline, and never house it with aggressive tankmates that might harass it into releasing toxins.
