The Sea Lemon Nudibranch is a chunky, warty Pacific species with a mottled yellow and orange body that blends beautifully against encrusting sponges in a cold-water or temperate setup.
It requires cool water temperatures in the 55 to 65 degree Fahrenheit range, which immediately rules it out for the typical tropical reef aquarium.
This species feeds exclusively on sponges and will not survive in a tank that does not offer a continuous supply of its specific prey organisms.
Keeping it requires either a cold-water species tank with cultivated sponge colonies or access to regular sponge supplements, making it a project animal rather than a casual addition.
