Trochus Snail

Care Summary

The Trochus Snail is a top-shell grazer built for reef tanks, with a conical shell and a strong foot that lets it right itself after falling, unlike many other snails. These guys are reef-safe, compatible with corals and invertebrates, and work well in tanks from 20 gallons up, tackling film algae and microalgae on glass and rockwork. They prefer cooler, stable water and can struggle in systems that run consistently above 79 degrees, so keep temperature management tight. In a well-established tank with regular algae growth they largely feed themselves, but supplement with dried algae sheets if the tank stays too clean for natural grazing.
