Care Summary
The Wire Coral Shrimp is a slender, beautifully camouflaged commensal shrimp that spends its entire life clinging to wire corals, matching their color and texture almost perfectly. It's reef-safe, completely peaceful, and undemanding as long as it has a healthy wire coral host to live on in a stable, well-maintained reef tank. The single biggest requirement for keeping this shrimp successfully is the host coral, because it will not thrive on rock or substrate and needs the specific structure of a wire coral to feel secure and feed naturally. It feeds on plankton and particulate matter that flows past its host, so keeping good flow through your tank and broadcasting fine foods like reef roids or phytoplankton regularly will keep it well-nourished.
