ATL Joleen
Acropora sp.
Recommended from the shop
Care Summary
ATL Joleen is an Atlantis (ATL) Acropora strain in pink and red tones. The colour runs warm through the body, shifting between pink and red across the branches and growing ends, which gives colonies a rich, saturated presence under strong light. ATL has a long history of naming distinctive acros, and Joleen's appeal is straightforward: dependable warm colour on a classic branching form, with the brightest tones on healthy new growth.
Care
Treat Joleen as an advanced Acropora for a mature SPS system. Provide high light and strong, random flow, and prioritise alkalinity stability — steady alkalinity, calcium and magnesium, tested regularly, with dosing changed in small increments. Keep nutrients controlled but not zero, and ramp new frags into full light gradually. Pink and red tones are sensitive indicators; fading usually means a parameter has drifted and needs a slow correction.
Placement and growth
Place it at the top of the aquascape where light and flow are strongest, mounted firmly so it can encrust before branching. Growth is moderate. The coral is peaceful, but give it open room and keep it clear of aggressive neighbours and of taller corals that might shade it. Saturated colour and steady tip growth confirm it is in the right spot.
