CB Golden Jawdropper
Acropora sp.
Recommended from the shop
Care Summary
CB Golden Jawdropper is a Cornbred Acropora strain, also carried through the TSA catalog, built around a golden-yellow body with contrasting polyps. Solid gold-yellow acros are uncommon, and the darker, contrasting polyps scattered across that bright tissue are what make the strain read as more than a plain yellow coral. Under strong light the gold intensifies, and a growing colony is hard to miss anywhere in the display.
Care
An advanced Acropora, Golden Jawdropper belongs in a mature SPS system with high light and strong, random flow. Alkalinity stability is the priority — keep it steady along with calcium and magnesium, test regularly, and dose in small increments. Yellow colour browns quickly when nutrients rise or light drops, so hold nutrients low but present and correct drift slowly. Acclimate new frags to full intensity gradually.
Placement and growth
Place it at the top of the rockwork in the strongest light and flow, mounted securely so the base can encrust and growth can proceed at its moderate rate. It is peaceful toward neighbours, but it needs open space to branch, protection from shading, and distance from aggressive corals. Gold colour deepening with contrasting polyps on new growth confirms the spot is right.
