CB Maleficent

CB Maleficent is a Cornbred Acropora strain with a bold, slightly wicked colour scheme that suits its name. The body runs pink to red, while the tips bring in green and orange contrast, so new growth looks almost highlighted against the older tissue. That shifting tip colour is the signature to watch for, and it shows best on actively growing branches under strong light.

Care

An advanced Acropora, this strain belongs in a mature SPS system with high light and strong, random flow. Alkalinity stability is essential — keep it steady along with calcium and magnesium, and hold nutrients in a controlled, non-zero range. Avoid abrupt changes to lighting, flow, or dosing, and acclimate frags to full intensity gradually. Consistent conditions are what keep the red body saturated rather than pale or browned.

Placement and growth

Position it at the top of the rockwork where light and flow are strongest. It grows at a moderate rate once its base has encrusted, so mount it securely and give it room to branch. Peaceful in temperament, it still should not sit within reach of aggressive neighbours, and it will lose colour if taller corals begin to shade it.
