CC Voodoo Majick

CC Voodoo Majick is a Cherry Corals (CC) Acropora strain with a dark, moody presentation: a deep purple body set off by bright tips. The contrast works like a spotlight — the near-black purple tissue makes the light growing ends appear to glow, especially under blue-heavy reef lighting. That dark-body, bright-tip combination is the signature, and it gives the coral a presence quite unlike paler purple acros.

Care

This is an advanced Acropora for a mature SPS system only. It requires high light and strong, random flow, and above all alkalinity stability, with calcium and magnesium kept consistent and tested regularly. Nutrients should stay low but present; dark tissue can mask early stress, so watch polyp extension and tip growth as health indicators rather than relying on colour alone. Make all changes gradually and one at a time.

Placement and growth

Mount it at the top of the aquascape in peak light and turbulent flow, fixed securely for moderate branching growth. The coral is peaceful, but give it clear space so it is not shaded — dark purple colour dulls quickly without strong light — and keep it out of reach of aggressive neighbours. Bright new tips against the dark body are the sign it is thriving.
