Favia Brain Coral

Dipsastraea pallida is a solid, workhorse Favia-type brain coral with well-defined corallites and a track record of tolerating the kind of imperfect conditions beginner tanks produce. Bottom placement on the sandbed or low rockwork under moderate light with medium flow; it's flexible on parameters within reason and doesn't demand perfect positioning. Alkalinity stability is the most important variable — like all stony corals, alk swings cause tissue recession, and Dipsastraea pallida shows stress at the corallite walls first. Target feed weekly with mysis or reef roids to support steady growth; consistent feeding is what separates a coral that survives from one that actually thrives.
