JF Fox Flame

JF Fox Flame is a tier-one Acropora strain from Jason Fox and one of the best-known names in this group. Its signature colours are a deep purple body with fluorescent yellow-green tips, a dramatic contrast that makes new growth immediately visible at the branch ends. That flame-like tip colour against the darker body is the defining feature collectors look for in a well-coloured piece.

Care

Keep this advanced coral in a mature SPS system with high light and high, strong random flow. Alkalinity stability is the foundation of good care, with calcium and magnesium held steady and nutrients kept consistent. Strong light supports the signature tip colour, but changes in intensity should be made gradually. Stable water, steady dosing and minimal disturbance give the purple body and bright tips the best chance to stay vivid.

Placement and growth

Place it at the top of the rockwork where light and flow are strongest, and allow open space above and around it for branching growth. Growth is moderate, so once settled it can build a recognisable colony, but it will still respond poorly to repeated moves. It is peaceful in nature; plan its position so neighbouring corals do not shade its tips, since those growing ends carry much of the strain's visual appeal.
