JF Shock Tart

JF Shock Tart is an Acropora strain from Jason Fox, a tier-three named line with a bright, confection-like palette. Its signature colours are a pink and red body with contrasting bright tips, giving the colony a lively appearance that separates it from the many blue and purple strains in a collection. The contrast between the warm body tones and the lighter, brighter growing ends is its defining trait.

Care

This is an advanced Acropora for a mature SPS system. It requires high light and high, strong random flow, together with careful alkalinity stability and steady calcium and magnesium. Keep nutrient levels and lighting consistent, and avoid sudden parameter shifts that can dull colour or stress tissue. As with other named Acropora strains, a stable routine maintained over months matters more than any short-term adjustment.

Placement and growth

Mount it in a top position with direct light and strong, varied water movement, leaving room for a moderate-growing colony to develop its branch structure. Growth is moderate once the frag has settled and encrusted. It is peaceful, so aggression is not a concern, but shading is; place it where faster neighbours will not block its light. Choose a permanent spot early and let it acclimate there without repeated repositioning.
